Child safety

Ome TV Online is for adults. This page spells out what that means in practice, including the limits of what we check, because a parent or a regulator deserves the exact version rather than a reassuring one.

Can anyone under 18 use Ome TV Online?

Plain answer: No. Under-18s are not allowed, full stop.

The minimum age is 18, or higher if the law where someone lives sets a higher age. We never set out to gather personal details from children. If it turns out that some were collected, they are erased without delay.

What is banned without exception?

Plain answer: Anything that sexualizes, exploits or puts a child at risk.

  • Sexual or exploitative material of any kind that involves a child.
  • Photos or videos of a child used anywhere on a profile: avatar, album, Moment or club picture.
  • Approaching, grooming or pushing a child, or anyone else, toward something unsafe.

Breaking this rule is treated as the most serious kind of violation, and the account is closed for good. Relevant records are kept, and we work with law enforcement and regulators when they make a legitimate request.

Do you check ages before a chat starts?

Plain answer: There is no ID step before the first match. Reports and removals are what enforce the rule.

A guest can start matching without a form or an ID, so nobody’s age is confirmed on the way in. The protections that do exist come afterwards: a report and a block button in every call, reports looked at within 24 hours, checks on profiles and uploads, and account limits that go all the way to a permanent ban. In other words, your reports are the mechanism. Please make them.

How do I raise a concern?

Plain answer: Press report during the call, or send an email. No account is required.

  • In a call or on a profile: use the report button. Every report is looked at within 24 hours.

Later on, or if you have no account: write to [email protected]. Tell us approximately when it was and describe what you noticed. Do not attach pictures of a child.

When a child faces immediate danger, phone the emergency number where you are before anything else. A report to us is never a substitute for the police.

I’m under 18 and something went wrong. What now?

Plain answer: Close the chat, talk to a grown-up you trust, and contact the authorities.

This site is not meant for you, and we remove accounts that belong to under-18s. If anyone here made you feel uneasy or asked you for something, end the chat right away and tell a parent, teacher or other adult you trust. You can reach the authorities in your country as well, or email us. Telling someone what happened to you will never get you in trouble.

What can parents and guardians do?

Plain answer: Device settings are the strongest tool. Email us if you think your child was here.

Because ages are not checked on entry, the controls that work best live on the phone, tablet or computer: the built-in parental and screen-time settings, content filters in the browser, and a clear idea of which websites the device is allowed to open. If you suspect your child has been on Ome TV Online, write to [email protected]; you can do that without an account. The rules for everyone are in the community guidelines, and how data about minors is handled is in the privacy policy.
